Biography
Alyssa Pothier (she/her) is a Toronto-based actor, playwright, arts educator and administrator. She holds a BFA from Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Performance.
Alyssa has worked for a number of companies across the GTA in arts education, including the City of Mississauga, PYC Programs at Toronto Met. University, Ovation! Performing Arts Academy, and Explore It! She is thrilled to be joining the Bravo Academy team in an administrative capacity – she has her highlighters and washi-tape at the ready, and is eager to be a part of this bubbly community.
Alyssa is passionate about performing in both theatre and film. As a playwright, she is a Robert Beardsley Award nominee for her one-act play, In Your Own Backyard. She is a Co-Artistic Director of Panoply Theatre Collective, where she and her colleagues take iconic (often classical) stories, and reimagine them for modern audiences. Reimaginings include LoveSick (adaptation of Love’s Labour’s Lost), The Bacchae, Macbeth, and Peter Pan, among others.
