Cara’s diverse performing career spans nearly 20 years has taken her across the country and into the Caribbean. Singing in five languages, some of her highlights include “First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Mimi in La Boheme and Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann with Trinidad Opera.
Although her musical journey began in Opera, her career has recently taken a new and exciting turn into musical theater. Some of her recent roles include Celeste in Sunday in the Park with George with The Confidential Musical Theater Project, Mrs. Fezziwig in A Christmas Carole, a featured guest with the Harold Green Jewish Theater’s, A Boy Like That, Christine La Fleur in Toronto Street Theater’s and as featured performer in the Women of Musical Theater Festivals Dazzle showcase.
While she is known for her rousing solos, Cara thrives on the power and synergy of performing duets, trios and quartets with her fellow actors. As a vocal teacher, her focus is on maintaining and developing good vocal technique which inspires healthy singing. She has taught a broad spectrum of repertoire from Opera, musical Theater to Pop and she hopes to encourage the artistic development and musicianship in her students.
She has taught beginner to intermediate levels, prepared students for Royal Conservatory Exams, University auditions and Professional engagements, and she maintains the same high standards when it comes to teaching piano.
A highlight for Cara was when she was asked to give a vocal masterclass to aspiring opera singers while she while in Trinidad performing with the opera. With over fifteen years of teaching experience she brings a wealth of knowledge and energy and is thrilled to be a part of the Bravo Team!
