Jake is a Toronto-based music director, composer, audio editor, and teacher. As a music director at Bravo Academy, Jake has had the pleasure of working on The Lightning Thief, The Drowsy Chaperone, Anne and Gilbert, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Flat Stanley Jr, In BeTween, The Theory of Relativity, and The Addams Family.
Jake is a proud teacher who has been playing piano for the past 20 years. Jake teaches both RCM and popular music curriculums and he loves to give his students a well rounded educational experience. Jake’s approach is kind and encouraging, and he is passionate about helping each student find their own unique musical voice.
Jake loves working on new Canadian musical theatre. As a composer, Jake’s original musical Ursa: A Folk Musical was showcased at the Queen’s University Watershed Festival in May 2021, and premiered in the Toronto Fringe 2022 Next Stage Festival. As an orchestrator and copiest, Jake has most recently worked on Boy Falls From the Sky (Mirvish), Stars of Mars (Nightwood Theatre) and Super School (Bravo Academy), as well as orchestrating his own work.
During the pandemic, Jake has been the audio editor and engineer for more than 20 musicals and virtual-projects, helping everyone from young students to professional actors make virtual theatre.
