  • Biography

    Having a passion for music, teaching and the performing arts, Sophia is excited to now be able combine and share all three genres. She has had the opportunity to travel to New York City to participate in the Metropolitan Opera Guild Intensive program, as well as sing at Lincoln Centre with the University of Toronto. Additionally, she has sung in Italy as part of the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy Academy Program, and has participated in numerous summer training programs, including St. Andrew’s Vocal Technique Workshop and Opera NUOVA! Sophia has been featured as a soloist with the University of Toronto Women’s Chamber Chorus, and the Canadian Children’s Opera Company, to which she was fortunate to have toured Europe with. Sophia is delighted to now be returning to the CCOC as a rehearsal assistant to their Butterfly Chorus.

    Recent theatre credits include the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella in Into the Woods, Grace in Annie, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Co-Headliner in the production FOUND.

    Sophia is a recipient of the University of Toronto Robert William Bygrave Bursary equivalent to full tuition for four consecutive years. She is a seven-year Ontario Music Festival Association provincial finalist in both Musical Theatre and Classical categories, and was one of fourteen finalists chosen to compete in the National Association of Teachers of Singing National conference in Chicago.

    Sophia is additionally a very accomplished dance graduate, studying Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Highland, and Musical Theatre, and was recently awarded her Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD). Fortunate to combine all her passions, she absolutely loves teaching private and group dance lessons at the Lindsay Dance Studio, and enjoys spending her summers choreographing and music directing children’s productions through Triple Threat Theatre’s Theatre Arts Camp. Sophia is beyond excited to be joining the Bravo family, and to share her love of the arts with them!
