Biography

Alicia Barban (she/her) is a performer, musician and arts educator from Ottawa. She trained at Randolph College & the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and alongside her performance career, she has been sharing her artistic knowledge and experience with students of all ages for over 10 years. 
 
She has taught musical theatre, glee, acting, songwriting and theatre creation, masterclasses in acting through song, spoken voice and body musicality, as well as instruction in ukulele and voice. She is most proud of her work as a mentor, and loves to inspire the next generation of performing artists!
 
Alicia is also a passionate collaborator, theatre creator & producer, with her initiative, The ArtFolk Collective, and as the 2020-21 RBC Apprentice Producer with the Musical Stage Company. Over the last three years, she has been involved in the development of multiple original projects: several plays, an interactive improv show, a musical, a backyard concert series, an episodic radio piece, a virtual variety show fundraiser, a cabaret and a digital choreography collaboration. 
 
Acting credits include: Marie-Ève in Almost a Full Moon (Citadel Theatre), Co-Creator/Performer in Roll Models (SoCap, Kick & Push Festival); American Trio in Dead Reckoning (Workshop & Loose Tea Musical Theatre Film Adaptation); Dyanne in Million Dollar Quartet (Mayfield Theatre); Rizzo in Grease (WinterGarden Theatre); Evangeline & u/s Phoebe in A Gentleman’s Guide (Stage West Calgary); Deb in Ordinary Days (OJS Theatre, Birmingham, UK); Trump & others in The NewsRevue Sketch Show (London, UK); and Hope in Urinetown (Assembly Theatre, Edinburgh).
