Biography
Over his 20+ year career, Gareth has designed lighting for everything from Shakespeare to Pro Wrestling, but always manages to come home to Musical Theatre.
Career Highlights include – Creating Lighting Designer for Toronto’s own Evil Dead the Musical, Adam Brazier’s iconic 2010 production of Assassins, and three Dora Mavor Moore Award Nominations – one for Tarragon Theatre’s bittersweet Sondheim song cycle “Marry Me a Little”, and two for Eldritch Theatre’s horror puppet comedies “Madhouse Variations” and “Requiem for a Gumshoe”.
For Bravo Academy – Be More Chill, Legally Blonde, Annie, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Lightning Thief, We Will Rock You, Bremen Rock City, Something Rotten, The Crack of Doom (or how I learned to Love the Meteor), SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical, Rainbowfish, Mean Girls, Matilda, Newsies.
Gareth is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Theatre Technical Production Program, and a charter member of IATSE ADC Local 659.
